S60 Emissions

MessageAuthor

Hi All, I have 2001 S60 2.0T, and I think it has a carbon emissions of 212g/km. I got that figure from the 2007 brouchure on the volvo website. Does anyone know if this figure is the same for the 2001 model? Or in real world use are the emissions lower or higher? Does running on a fuel like shell vpower lower emissions? In Ireland from July car tax is going to be based on emissions, at 212 g/km I don't think I can afford to keep the S60 as it will cost over a 1500 euro a year to tax my car. Is there anyway of lowering emissions? any addon or engine additive or something?

They are asking for trouble if they are going to measure it once a year and go off that. First how? Are they going to drive a km and get a reading? Sitting at idle is totally different than driving about, and people will just take advantage of it.

Well they said the same thing when the NCT came in (the national car test) I just don't know, I don't think it is fair.

Happy days, just found out that this new tax is only for cars bought after the 1 of july this year. Whew!! Back to just worrying about the price of petrol!! :-)
